Re: Your input on 1D4 please . . .

Hi there Albert,

I've had the Mark IV since early January. I've been using it mainly for Sports, and also for landscapes. I've found it truly a game changer in it's field (sports), but also other areas. It's great for general event work, like weddings and parties.

If you're especially interested in landscape with the camera, maybe you should check out my landscape gallery. (I've not had time to upload to my website yet!)

These were all taken on the either the Canon 5D Mk II, or the 1D Mk IV. The last 10 are all the Mark IV.
If you've got any questions about it, I'd be happy to answer.

I am very attracted to the 1D4, but have some reservations and was hoping to hear from those of you who have this camera.

While I shoot mostly landscapes (currently use a 5D and 7D) I have been doing more and more portraits, travel, stock and even a wedding or two.

I have the 17-40L, 24-105L, 100-400L, SIGMA 150mm Macro and the EF 50mm 1.4. I've ordered the 70-200 f2.8 (mark 2) but have not yet received it.

So my questions are:

1. Is the 1D4 a good choice for portraits and/or weddings? What lenses would you suggest?

2. How about landscapes? I understand the EF-S lenses don't work on the 1D4, so how would I get wide angle? Say, the equivalent of my 17-40 on a full frame?

Many thanks
Albert (now with free Lightroom presets)
