Sounds like you need a mid-range zoom that does well for portraits.

The Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 is good as someone mentioned. The Nikon 24-70 is better wide open, but it is heavy. Be sure to check out your field of view at these focal lengths by setting your 18-200 at those focal lengths before you decide to buy. And also check out the weight of the 24-70 compared to your 18-200.

The 24-85 f/2.8-4 is also a decent lens. I did not care for it much, but it has a useful range. I have the 24-85 f/3.5-4.5 AFS and it does very well for portraits because it is very neutral in color - it also does double duty when I need a very light mid-range lens for my long walks.
