Re: sigma 150-500 os hsm

I had the 150-500 for about a year. As everybody else says, it's a darn good lens within its limitations. It is pretty weak at the long end in anything but the brightest light, and the IQ at 500mm is iffy. I realized that I was primarily using it at the long end, and being frustrated, so I decided to go with the 300 AF-S f/4 + TC1.4. I'm much happier with the results. The 300 +1.4 at 420 f/5.6 gives greatly superior results to the Sigma at 500 f/6.3. Bottom line, if you're looking at a purely bright light lens, with pretty decent IQ, the 150-500 is a very good deal.
