(My) G2 ISO test photos JPG vs RAW 100% crops

Please note this is not intended to be a scientific test as a tripod couldn't be used (the camera was tethered by its tripod mount) even though the scene was mainly lit by artificial light there was some natural light falling through windows.

All photographs taken using A mode, interestingly every photo is roughly 1 stop underexposed (sorry didn't notice till I got home) I can't really see anything in the scene that would affect the metering so much. I didn't want to correct the underexposure as that would also add more noise.

RAW files developed using Lightroom 3 beta-2, white balance corrected, then 10% ascending luminosity noise reduction added (each ISO increase adds 10% more luminosity noise reduction)

From what I can see there is nearly 1 stop improved noise advantage over the G1. Although Lightroom 3 has an amazing new processing engine which I am sure will have helped.

The tested G2 camera is using firmware 0.2 so things could improve further. One big improvement, there is now hardly any horizontal banding! There is some vertical smearing at very high ISO but as mentioned this is a beta firmware.

Thank you,
Dcuk

Here is the complete scene used for testing.

Tip: Images need to be clicked twice to see the full size 100% crop
