G1 with 75mm f1.9 Kinotel Anastigmat for macro (C Mount)

A work of art to print out on a canvas and hang on the wall in the home...well done indeed and great to see the G1 featured.

WOW! Fantastic images.

I haven't done much macro photography, so could you please tell me about using the ext tube (which one you used, how to use it, etc).

Thanks,

Mark

Thank you. First, not all the images on the website are with extension tube or this lens. About the extension tube, this is a simple c-mount tube of 1cm that is mounted between the lens and the c-mount adapter. While doing so you move the lens farther from the image plane giving you a closer focussing and greater magnification. But you loose some light and infinity focus also.

Actually I do not use tubes a lot, only sometimes to try and expiriment "macro capabilities" of lenses that are not real macro lenses, like fast c-mounts.

Most of the time I use my prime macro lenses the Tokina 90mm f2.5 or Kiron 105mm f2.8.

Jerry

Agreed - these are some of the most spectacular images I've ever seen. I got through 200+ images, then had to bookmark your site so I remembered to come back. Not a bad image in the bunch!

Keep up the awesome work.

I think my favorite was Bling Bling . . . though hard to make up my mind.

I usually run screaming from flower pictures. But yours are beautiful indeed, as are your insect images and those with liquid drops. They are a true inspiration to anyone interested in macro photography.

Further, they are a testimony to the fact that whilst so many people spend ages arguing the intricate merits and faults of lenses, cameras, etc., people like your good self who just get on with taking pictures, are what photography is all about.

I must admit to a certain jealousy. I would happily buy a coffee table book with a selection of your best shots.

I recommend readers to give this collection a few minutes of their time:

I would love to but for some reason, whenever I click on the link, I get an HTTP 404 error message. Perhaps there is a bandwidth limit, which all this praise will likley lead to being exceeded.

Will try again later.

@ Jerry,

If the rest of your images are as good as the one posted here, I can't wait.

Hi Al, it seems the flickriver app is broke... Wonder what caused that?

You can also look at "the favorites" of my pictures directly via: http://www.flickr.com/photos/elchivato/sets/72157617962677451/
