Spring is in the air and I thought it time to try out the OM 50mm f3.5 macro lens, one of the old OM lenses which my brother in law had given to me. I was not planning to get a macro lens for my E-P1 since I have an excellent one for my Nikon D90, but I think I will be working with this lens also :-)

Those look great!

What is the close focusing distance with this lens on MFT?

Very nice series, but the #2 is absolutely superb!

The OM 50 f/3.5 macro is one of my favorite OM on the E-P1 : tack sharp and very smooth bokeh, as your pictures show!

Great color, clearity, and composition. Thanks for posting.

I'm so excited that spring is here! Little things growing will get me out with my legacy macro. Keep up the good shooting.

Cheers,
Seth

What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

Love the second shot. Great work!

Your photos are all good but the first one is spectacular.

Hi,

Compliments for your upload!

I also use my old OM lenses on my E-P1 with results like you, I am really amazed on the quality you can get with these optics. I have used 24/2.8, 50/1.8, 50/3.5 macro, 100/2.8.

I use it with the MF-2 adapter, which works flawless. the only concern I have is when I use the lens on infinity there the focus is not 100%, not a lot just a millimeter or so.

For focussing I do it same way as one of the posters, going back and forward with the camera and press the shutter when it looks sharp on the screen.

I am really impressed with the results this lens is giving me. Even if this was my only camera, I would not feel the need to get another macro lens.

I am working with a cheap adapter which I bought on Ebay, since initially I was not planning to work with legacy lenses, but I have caught the fever :-)

Lovely pictures with OM 50mm macro! I have used the same lans with my Canon 1DMKIII with excellent results. It is really good lens.

Today I get the eos-adapter for GF1 and am able to use all Olympus Om, Zeiss- and LeicaR-lenses with eos adapter with GF1.
