Howdy,

I'm hoping to get some feedback on the Tamron f/2.8 A16NII (built-in motor version) that I bought yesterday.

I'm consistently getting overexposed images, and thought I'd show you with a little test (presented below). I took three shots, the first on Program with the 35mm 1.8 prime. Then replicated the exposure settings in Manual for the Tamron and the kit lens. The photos are directly out of the camera, untouched save for resize and text overlay.

I'm just not sure what to do here. It's looking like I'll have to leave the camera set to -1.0 EV or -0.7 EV...

Although I just seem to be talking to myself here, it looks like the aperture is stuck wide open (even though the lens looks to be in working order by manually manipulating the aperture control on the rear of this nikon-mount lens).

Here are three images, taken on aperture priority, at f/2.8, f/8 and f/22. Clearly, a mechanical problem.

Interesting. I've seen that happen before. There is a small plastic tab on the lens mount that opens close the blades. Try wiggling it around to free up the blades. It definitely looks like its stuck wide open or a wide aperture. Even though, I do usually have to compensate -.3ev when shooting with my 17-50VC. Don't mind at all.

Bring it back and try another one.

I returned this lens to the eBay seller for refund. Case closed! Thanks all for your thoughts.

Im interested in this lens (VC version).
Would you mind sharing your thoughts about it ?

I currently have the 18-200VR, and the 35mm1.8. Most of my pictures are shot at wide angle (with a D90).
Thanks for any feedback.
André
