Swan migration and RRBB

Canyon Marsh ID.

Over 500 Tundra swans reported here, and 5-600 each at two other lakes in North ID along the Coeur d’Alene River. Never able to get close because of terrain, and restricted property. Something to see and hear anyway. Taken Sunday Mar. 14.

All shots with 50D, 500f4+1.4X using bean bag from my vehicle.

Landing swans

Flying swans

Trumpeter swan Cygnets at Turnbull NWR WA. Feb 23rd.

This morning at Peone Prairie WA north of Spokane.
Found 30-40 when I arrived and got this one before the sun arose.
ISO400, 50d-700mm f7.1. Tripod and Sidekick

All but three flew away. This one posed a bit after the sun came up.
