Thanks for the heads-up. I've been reading this forum for the past two years and it looks like I'm going to purchase a mega zoom camera this year.

I'm looking forward to reading the responses of the more experienced members of this forum.

Can anybody see any way to pixel peep the TZ7 to TZ10 comparison photos (the bottle label)?

That makes me very skeptical of the whole review, actually...

But this review does move the bar a little - these images do look awfully like what I expect from my ZS3 - half respectable :)

This review sounds rather encouraging, the first somewhat positive sign for the TZ10. I'm curious to hear what Dcresource will make of it, and eventually dpreview (I'm guessing a new compact superzoom test is in order, but it will take a while).

¿Y las buenas noticias? Comparada con la TZ7, la TZ10 consigue mejorar ligeramente sus resultados en cuanto a nivel de detalle y control del ruido.

they are saying the TZ10 does slightly better than TZ7 in resolution and noise

oh oh somone is going to look foolish for jumping the gun and trashing IQ of this neww model :)

yes this is encouraging, the review seems very balanced, he's not saying its a huge leap beyond the ZS3/TZ7 but seemed to like several improvements

manual controls
improved image stabilization
the IR intelligent resolution offered a "marked improvement"
intelligent zoom worked well adding 4x without loss of resolution or IQ

and best of all, compared to ZS3, the ZS7 "gets slightly better results in the level of detail and noise control."

The Images look encouraging, seems no worse than the TZ7 but with more pixels as well as full control of that fully variable iris (first seen in the TZ6/7) and full control of image parameters (Old TZ natural mode doesn't turn the sharpening / haloing down enough) ..

I'll wait til the intermediate version (the TZ85) lands as I'm not paying for a GPS feature I don't want or need and see if the colour is as good as the TZ6/65 which was less Panny and more Fuji-like than the TZ7

Not sure about IQ but I had a play with one at Focus on Imaging & I must say it's impressive. Seems very slick & I for one like the gps feature. That's going to be pretty standard soon I'd say, just another bit of exif info in a few years. Only downside I felt was the feel of the right side grip - it was a bit slippy & smooth for my taste a slightly ruberised surface would make it feel more secure in the hands.
