There is no aperture control

found a TC201 in a gear box I had stored from years ago... Will it work on a D300/D700 with 70-200 f2.8. I understand it will not auto focus, but anyone try this combo and what were your results ?

The combination will be treated by the camera as a non-CPU lens, which means without an aperture ring, you will have no aperture control. A possible workaround is to add a wedge to the lens, to hold the aperture open, but of course you then have only one aperture setting available.

Regarding optical quality, I'll be looking at some comparisons between the TC-20E II and III later this week; I suppose I could include a couple of tests with the TC-201.
