Can I Batch Rename Files in a Directory?

Good evening, I have a problem that I'm wondering if you Mac gurus can help me with? I need to change the name of a large number of files in a directory that has nine subdirectories, each with about 40 files. All of the file names end with "V10A". Also, each of the files are either Word .doc files or PowerPoint files. It would take me ages to rename hundred of files to V11A one at a time. Is there either a program I can use to do it for me, or a command line command I can use to change every file name in one go? Can I do a "search and replace" of file names including subdirectories?

I'd appreciate any help offered.

Cheers,
D. Hamments
