zooming during exposure..

so what are some super zooms if any that zoom while exposing???
Look for cameras that use a mechanical zoom as opposed to electronically (using levers, buttons, etc.). Fuji's S100fs and S200EXR have mechanical zoom rings but the pictures they'll produce will be nearly useless if you zoom during the exposure since the focus changes significantly while zooming. Some DSLR lenses maintain their focus while zooming but the ones that do are probably quite expensive and aren't what I think that you're looking for even if some of them turn out to be inexpensive kit lenses.

You can 'zoom during exposure' in PP too. Much easier and better to control.

All in my humble opionion of course!

If I seem to talk nonsense or you can't understand me, it's probably my English :)

yeah i know, but i dont like pp on my photos... i like to get it right in camera, the 1st time.

Used the Canon 24-105L F/4 lens, about 1/2 sec exposure. Zoomed from 105mm back to 24mm.

And here's one from my 70-200L F/2.8. 1/3 sec started at 200mm. I have some better ones... But I cannot find them.

Anyway, the technique is extremely easy. Simply have a shutter speed that's slow enough that'll allow you to comfortably zoom...

Best Regards, Mike

....poo poo PP............. Even Ansel Adams did a lot of post processing to his work. It can make a 'nice' shot look even better.

port royal dad:: im looking for a super zoom that will zoom during exposure.. dslr's do but not all superzooms and im not looking for a dslr right now....

lucy.. i know most ppl use it, but my personal preference is to not use it.. i think it makes you a better photographer if you know what your camera is capable of and you can manipulate that to make the best possible image in camera.. no harm meant to any one who does pp, i just dont like it..

bill: wont manual zoom cause tons of hand shake blur in the images??? and no youre right im so not looking for anything that big and expensive yet, thanks tho

so what are some super zooms if any that zoom while exposing???
Very small list . . . and most of these are discontinued models:

Panasonic FZ30 and FZ50, Sony R1 and 828, Fuji S6000fd, S200EXR, and S9100, Kodak P880.

There are a couple of other Fuji models, but you can look them up in the DPR camera database.
