Yes. Set the camera to manual or A-priority and then select F11. While the camera is still on, press the DOF button while you remove the lens. This locks the lens at F11. When you put the lens back on the camera it reverts to its automatic position.

Also, I've only done this with Canon lenses and not a 3rd party lens as you've got.

Also, with the lens stopped down the image is darker but what you see is what you get.

If you were now to add extension tubes between the camera and lens the image would be magnified. Remember, for best macro shots, flash is essential.
