RAW or JPEG?

Sorry but I wanted to pull together some questions I've picked up from some other threads. I'm trying to work out what to shoot RAW or JPEG. I understand RAW is best if you like PP, I've never done this so don't know if I'm missing anything so to speak.

I'm not sure how many shots I'll loose, per SD card, if I switch to RAW from JPEG. I understand the D90 system is not truely 'lossless', is that an issue.

Will I need to convert to JPEG all the images once I download them from my camera to my computer and can they be 'swapped back' later? Will the RAW images display ok in a digital photo frame. Also, if no PP at all, will the immages look any 'better' when printed out? Can you print the images any larger, as they contain more 'info'?

Thanks for your assistance in removing the fog of confusion I've gotten myself into.
