I have a friend that has one that I dog sit on occasion (for a
month at
a time) and really like her but seems like a lot of work (more than a
typical dog).
What is your take?

My really bad summer pictures:

While my first husky was a very sweet dog (maybe because it was a
female) but our current dog is psychotic. He thinks that he is one
of my kids. We had to fence in a seperate area of the yard for him
so that kids could play without him when they wanted to. The
problem is that he thinks that he should be with them at all times
and ate threw the fence to prove his point. That led to an
electric fence (of which you can see a yellow standoff for in the
picture below).
From everything that I have heard , you really should have two
huskies instead of just one but wife wouldn't go for it and I can't
imagine what two would be like IF this rumour isn't true.
I have to admit that I am crazy about this dog too but I had to
chuckle the first time that he hit that wire (I was still mad at
him for knawing through the fence). When he goes (and he'll
probably last for 20 years the next dog will NOT be a husky.
