Well, she's gone now. And I have to say, I'm missing my D90 like mad. The world seems empty without it. I guess I must have just got used to having it around. I keep wondering what it's doing. I miss the feel of my D90 next to me, miss its presence, its smell, its cute little beep as it focuses.

In the end I sent her off with the 35mm lens. I know it's a bit small but she didn't want the extra weight of the 18-105. Also it means i can pretend i'm taking photos with my remaining lens. Beep! Click.

If you have a 18-105mm lens (or even the 18-200mm), let her carry that lens ONLY .

There two major reasons for this:
1. That focal length covers most of her travel photography needs.

2. She does not need to change lenses during the trip, thus minimizing the risk of dust entering your camera. Tell her NOT to release the lens attached to your D90.

Good luck.
