Jill's trip to Tian Tan Buddha...

Hi Everyone,
Firstly a very happy 2010 to you all.

We have just returned from a trip to Hong Kong & China, and here is the first part that I would like to share.

We took the MTR to the Island of Lantau to vist the one of five, of the largest Buddha's in China. He is 34 metres high and weighs 250 tons. Made from Bronze.

1. Cable car to get you there.

2.The trail below the Gurkhas , highly trained military from Berma, used to run to keep fit.

3.One of the buildings.

4.Monestry in the distance.

5.Buddha sitting on a lotus flower.

6.One of the lesser Buddha. There are eight.

7.Stairs leading to the upper level to the Big Buddha.

8. Junk or called a 'walla-walla', because of the noise it makes.

9.Slow Ferry.

10. Fast Jet Ferry, we used.

11. Taken through polarised glass door, my camera also had a polarised filter, hence the colours. ( I quite liked). Approaching Hong Kong Island.

Hope you enjoyed.

May the Focus be with you
