Re: Shots captured with Pentax 110 SLR lenses (many pics)

Really nice 110 film shots. Especially the last one.

Recently, I had brought a Pentax 110 SLR system completed with 18mm, 24mm and 50mm lenses. I also brought and shot a roll of 110 film, fulfilled the dream of using this amazing system. Frankly, the prints and scanned CD images from photo shop were really bad, could be due to previous poor film storage (it was not expired when I took those pics) and poor developing processing, I guess the reason could be due to limited number of 110 film users. I got better results scanning the 110 negative with my own scanner, but it was tricky to installed onto the film holder of the Epson V300.

Fortunately, the main reason for me to buy this sytem was to use with m4/3 camera. I had been fascinately by the pictures captured with these lenses on M4/3 cameras in many local and overseas forums. I later brought an E-P1 to play with these old minature lenses.

They were so small that Pentax had to built the aperture mechanism inside the 110 body. All the 3 lenses are of f2.8 aperture only. Many owners made either simple aperture rings or adaptor old rangefinder aperture mechanism to improve the performance of these lenses.

Some interesting links.

Another old timer

Pentaxs from different period of times. Captured with the 18mm lens. Buying Pentax is good investment. Some of these cameras were 20+ or 30+ years old, still functional, producing pictures I like.

A lot of potential embedded in these old lenses. I suggest people who happened to own both Pentax Auto 110 system and m4/3 camera to consider resurrecting these old Pentax lenses. A little investment in buying a Pentax 110 to m4/3 adapter. I know there is a seller in Taiwan (Hawk Factory) selling this adapter. I purchased my adapter locally, it was built on a multi-purpose C mount (I can mount C mount lens onto my adapter) and Lecia thread mount adapter, only catch was the design required cannibalizing a Pentax 110 body to get the lens mount.

Using these Pentax lenses are just fun. Recently I some times take all the 3 lenses with me to go to work together with my E-P1, some thing I could not do frequently with my K100D Super.

BTW, several weeks ago, I found an English Ebay seller selling not yet expired (should be expired by now) Fuji 110 film.
