nikon 70-300mm to sigma50-150mm

I go for walks and generally use my Nikon 70-300mm vr ! Very happy with this lens. Started out this morning again with it and got lucky, came across a Pileated Woodpecker. I have been trying to get a pic of one of these guys for a while. I use the 70-300 for the long shot that I need most of the time.

Nikon ISO 1250 1/250 f5.6

I got so close to this guy I think he got conferrable with me. I shot over 250 raw shots, filled my card. It was –10 census + wind chill. I did not bring along my kit, hiked back to my truck and picked up another memory card and changed lens. This woodpecker let me really close so I though I would give the sigma a go. Went back and to my surprise I found him again.

Sigma 50-150 mm ISO 800 1/1250 f4

Please comet, being wrong set up or settings or on the lens resaults!

Thank you
