anyone ever had this prob???

Hi there, last weekend I went outside cause we finally had some serious snow in The Netherlands, which is rare. Took my @350 with the sigma 17-70 lens. It was quite cold, between -5 and -10 celsius. After some 5 or 6 shots the cam stopped, it could not focus anmore. Done with shooting. Switching on and off did not work, seemed the lens had problems with the cold or so. My brother has the same equipment, and the same happened with him.

Saturday went out again, same happened. I switched the Sigma for my Tamron 18-250 lens, no problems at all. Though it was even colder on saturday everything went fine.

Question is, is that Sigma that sensitive for cold temperatures under zero celsius?
Does anybode experienced the same problem?
Cheers Sonn
