Warming filter vs White balance

Hello all

Hope this is a good place to ask.

Been using Dslr' for the last 5 years, as well as doing the basics in Photo shop.

My question is, if one uses a warming filter on camera (am looking at the Tiffen 812)
Does one gain anything, subtlety's, more natural looking image, etc..

As oppose to just adjusting white balance in photo shop, by changing the white balance to plus 300, which if I have read correctly is what the Tiffen 812 is.

Thanks for any advise or point of views on this subject.

take it slow
