A few shots with DP1 + DMW-LW46 (x .75 wide angle conversion lens). Love this camera!

Marvelous. I get the same feelings about images from my new DP2.

Hope you shoot raw. Bring out the dynamic range of the second one, for example, and the rock face on the right under the overhang really pops.

One weakness is the boundaries between rocks and sky. Maybe the wide angle conversion accentuates it?

Same camera qualities in evidence on an opposite image, shaded and cloistered:

Is the LW46 + adapter made to fit the DP-1 or did you have to adapt it. I recently bought a Panasonic LC40 and it came with an LW52 wide converter and an adapter. From some preliminary measurements I've taken it doesn't look like it would take too much to fit the LW52 on the DP-1 but I'm wondering if there's an easier way. The converter works quite well on the LC40 so I would expect it to give pretty good results on the DP-1...

Look at the picture, not the pixels...

I simply screwed LW46 on Sigma HA-11 46mm Filter Adapter.

These are really nice shots, especially the last one. I like how these rocks don't suffer too much from the WA distortion. Looks like you brought along a much bigger camera :)

Do you have a shot with more angular shapes in it so we can judge the distortion better?

Thanks for comments! I looked around, but couldn't find any shots with angular shapes. I'm out of town now, but I'll shoot something and post next week.

Nice shots!!

I just want to know the lens adapter (LW46) didn't touch directly to lens surface of the Sigma's lens?

Cheers,

.... new DP1 here (for hiking) and interested in proven ways to extend its application. Is this the same Panasonic ... as on Amazon.com at $149.90 ? Your shots are great and quite similar to many slot canyon scenes encountered here in southwest Utah. The lens touching question was of interest as well thinkg back to some recent post.

Thank-you for these fine shots.

Thanks for comments!

Yes, it's originally made for Panasonic Lumix LX3, but fits on DP1's 46mm extension tube.

No, LW46 is not directly touching DP1's lens. LW46 is concaved on the surface closer to the camera body, so there is no way DP1's lens can touch it.

... to DP1 for the long term. I appreciate your help to resolve these questions.

Sure, I should be back by Wed.

The difference is about 4 oz. and CAD130.

I have to use my Nikon in mid-aperture and smaller, or there is fringing in the corners, as Richard Franiec stated. What aperture were you using with the Panasonic? Am I a candidate for buyer's remorse?

I posted one of his pictures in full size on the DP1 Accessories site. I agree with Priscilla that it appears to be the best of the group that we have seen so far. I have not been able to find a weight. Priscilla if you know both the Nikon and Panasonic weight could you post then? Thanks

It has a 46mm thread so it mounts without an adapter.
