7D & the 420 EX
My plans have been to purchase a 7D after Christmas when
perhaps prices will be a little lower, initial manufacturing problems
ironed out and raw file support from Adobe firmed up.
One of the primary attractions is direct flash control.
"The 420 EX works, but is not fully compatible, as it takes a 270 EX, 430 EX II or 580 EX II to interface with the menu system for flash control in the 7D. "
I have a 580EX II and a 420EX, and my plan was to be able to use these
two units on stands for portraits and still life without having to have a
flash unit on the camera or a bracket.
Is this going to be practical, or is the 420EX going to be limited
in operation to the point that I will want / need to replace it ?
Any help appreciated !
