Just wanted to share, I think I'm actually getting somewhere! (or it may be luck) Criticism?

Remarkable photograph, one of the clearest close-ups I've seen to date.

Assuming you used the f707, could you tell me what settings the camera was set to and what camera add-ons/accessories you used?

:: tries to emulate everything he sees on this board to some degree :: ;)

Caio! :)

Hobbes : What if the public doesn't like your work?

Calvin : They are not supposed to like it. This is avant-garde stuff! I'm criticizing the low brows who can't appreciate great art like this!

Thank you for the comments everybody. I think a lot of the reason I really liked this shot is that the white balance came out nearly perfect. Like Ann said, look at the whiteness of the flower. I didn't have to do much adjusting in photoshop aside from cropping and a little sharpening. So I'm thinking that white balance is an area I need to master.

Some info: ISO 100, manual set for F4 for good dop, 1/200. I didn't use any accessories, I don't have a macro filter (but it is on my Christmas list!).

How did I get the fly to stay there? Hmmm, I don't know if I want to give up that secret ;)

I'm guessing you caught the fly and stuck it in the freezer for a bit. This really slows them down but doesn't kill them. After being off ice for a bit they stumble around and then fly away.

Is that your secret?
