Hello all ... I just bought the VCL-Mhg07A conversion lens. It's a nice lends but I need more! LOL Does anyone know where I can get a quality fisheye (around 8mm) lens that will work for this camera?

Hey D,

Mainly for fun. People are great subjects for fisheye, especially my 2 year old son. I had a Nikon Coolpix 990 with the Nikon fisheye lens and had a blast with it. That's about the only thing I miss about that camera. I am in Cypress. I'm searching around now for one. If I find one, shall I let you know?

i searched for a fish eye long tme ago and only found 1 that was a direct 58mm screw mount but it was extremely expensive($1500). Its made by Century Optics and is available at

Heres a guy who put a small fisheye on his 707. Its also a Century Optics lens but its 37mm so there lots of vignetting.

Yowza! Yes, that's a bit much for a "fun" lens. I'm looking into a Sigma fisheye for a video camera. Someone is using this on his F707 and it seems fine. Thanks ZipperZ!

I have a couple of Tamron lenses for my Canon SLR and the spherical glass is pretty high quality. There 100-400 lens I think it is has won a lot of awards. I have a 28-200 which works great and a 200-400 which I have been very happy with too!

I bought my Sony External Flash there for under $100. They have good prices on stuff.

They are right off the 55 by Nike Town. Phone is 949-646-9383. I bought both my Tamrons there.

I use a Raynox 0.3X semi-fisheye adapter. I originally bought it for my Canon GL1 to get a wide-angle fisheye effect in videos. It doesn't screw on. It kind of snaps on. It was pretty cheap and works great. Since the F707 and GL1 both have 58mm threads, it works on either. I believe the model I have works on 52-62mm threads or something.

Thanks for the links. I didn't expect this lens to cost so much, but maybe it's a good indicator on the quality. The sample shots on the raynox site are pretty decent:



but i'd like to see some real end user shots...

I have the Raynox MX3000 0.3x semi-fisheye lens. Im not happy with it at all and i plan on returning it. The CA in the corners and sides are horrible. Cropping out the CA is a solution but that dosent make sense to me. Theres a better model called the DCR-FE180pro that is an upgrade but its not available yet. Its worth a look.

Etronics is really not very good with people.

We ordered that lens weeks ago and they never acknowledged the order. We called them prior to ordering, they said it was in stock, after a few days of not hearing from them after we ordered we called and they said that it was on back order and never bothered to write an email or nothing, just left us hanging. Since then we've wrote asking questions about it and they will not write back. The web site STILL says it's in stock but it isn't. This company is most ALWAYS higher in retail on everything I've researched in pricing. This $369 price is a gouge and would suggest waiting until several retailers have it stocked prior to purchase.
