1 stop over exposure = 1 stop lower iso

I had this suspicion for quite a while and now gave it a try.

As it seems to me one can say that for example shooting at ISO 3200 with 1 stop over exposure (and compensating for that in pp) has about the same quality as a shot at ISO 1600 with no exp. comp.

Of course this knowledge has little practical value but it's interesting at least to me.

You can see the crop factor on top of each pic. No further pp done.

left : ISO 1600
right : ISO 3200 over exp. & compens.

left : ISO 3200
middle : ISO 3200 over exp. & compens.
right : ISO 1600
