Stupid competition between Olympus and Panasonic?

It seems to me that Olympus and Panasonic are too busy competing amongst themselves, when they should be committed towards establishing a secure lead for M43 over developing mirrorless standards.

Case in point: Olympus' newly released 14-150mm superzoom, obviously overlapping heavily with the Panasonic 14-140mm. Granted, the Oly doesn't have video capability and will probably be significantly cheaper, but in photography these lenses will nonetheless do the same thing.

Another example: Panasonic's 14mm f2.8, obviously designed to compete with Oly's 17mm. 14mm is just a little bit wider, but these lenses will basically perform the same job. Rather, a 10mm or so would have been a wiser choice towards expanding the standard.

Then of course we have the 14-42/45mm lenses. Do we really need two so similar slow kit zooms? If the cooperation between Oly and Pana was truly functioning, shouldn't one of these have been a faster lens in the f2.8-3.5 range?

What do you think? Is the Oly/Pana rivalry hampering the development of M43?
