Lens price fluctuation and the new Nikkor 18-200mm
I was able to get the Nikkor 12-24mm for about $750 last December. Its now up to $1079 with some internet providers. It is a great lens too. I am very happy with it and been through several National Parks with it and had some fantastic results. I was looking into the new Nikkor 18-200 mm, as opposed to the old, and it carries a pretty hefty price tag too (around $850). Why so high and why such price fluctuation in the Nikkor lenses? Should I wait to get the 18-200 mm hoping that the price will be reduced in the next few months or am I wasting my time? Looks like a great lens but what do you think about thie continued lens creep we keep reading about? Thanks for your time in responding.
