Have you seen the thread regarding rechargeable batteries on the K-x? Looks like a horror to me. Especially the need to carry an external charger, which is rather huge in size. Come to think of it, the proprietary battery on my K10D does last me quite well. It's been 2 years and no sign of deteriorations. Maybe I just didn't use it enough recently.

Not sure how using a prorietary rechargeable battery gets around the need to carry a charger. The KM gets around 1500-2000 shots with standard Lithiums, so no need for a recharger there.
