wide vs std

I had the two lenses you have and sold them both for a tamy 28-75 f2.8 and canon 70-200 f2.8 L with 1.4 ext with $29 canon monopod I also have the 50 f1.4. Point is, F2.8 is more important on the std and tele side than the wide side.

tokina 11-16 f2.8 if you need low light ultra wide. Otherwise, canon 10-22. But I have tokina 10-17 fisheye which is a great lens and defishes quite well 14 -17.

I also have the canon 20 f2.8 -- it gets bad rap on a FF, but on a crop sensor it is a nice lens.

here is what I'd do if I were committed to crop sensor - 10-17 tokina fisheye, 17-55 f2.8 canon, 50 f1.4 canon, 70-200 f2.8 IS + 1.4 ext, new 100mm f2.8 IS macro

but since I'm not committed to crop sensor, I only choose FF lenses these days.

Thanks. No you are right, 35mm is not wide enough. I called our local camera shop (there is only 1 here, can you believe it!) and they said they could lend me a couple of lenses to try out. I am going to go in on my day off and see what they have. I made a wishlist for them and emailed them and they said they will see what they can get by next week for me t0 play with. K
