1D Mark V

Looking at the sample images of the new 1D and reading some previews I started to wonder whether the life of the IV will be very short.

Quote from R.G:

"The lack of some of these refinements gives the EOS-1D Mark IV the feel of an interim product, like an EOS-1D Mark III N."

This far, these evidences seem to support that:

  • no big launch by Canon (isn't it unusual?)

  • more upgrade than something revolutionary, consisting fixes and existing technology add-ons (AF & video), also specs are sort of a forced catch up (ISO)

I must admit, I hardly recognize Canon here.

My guess would be: the AF is here to stay when it recives very good feedback, and current incarnation of the 1D is kind of a test platform.

I know, it sounds extremely unbelievable, but Photokina 2010 anyone?

Thanks for your attention,
