50D + glass vs D90 + glass (on low budget)?

I’ll be using it mainly on kids (fast subjects) & family (indoors and outdoors) and some landscape/monuments/buildings.

After reading some reviews of the 50D and D90, I know that;

  • whatever I chose, I’ll be well served.

  • the D90 seems to be better for landscape

  • the 50D seems to be better for fast moving subjects

  • the D90 seems to deliver nicer pictures

  • the 50D seems to be faster on focusing and FPS also bigger buffer

Then... following the many advices… I went to the shop and held them.

I did find that the 50D fits better in my hand (as did the D300 but its over budget) however if the 50D may win the “hand ergonomics” the “functional ergonomics” (easy access to most used functions) is better on the 90D.

Now for the most important – the lens (they’ll outlive the bodies… hopefully)

I came out with the following options (remember, low budget for now, maybe in one year I could buy another lens);
for 50D

EF 35 mm f/2
EF-S 55-250 mm f/4-5,6 IS
EF-S 18-55 mm f/3,5-5,6 IS
EF-S 55-250 mm f/4-5,6 IS
AF-S DX 18-135 mm f/3,5-5,6 ED-IF

AF-S DX Nikkor 35 mm f/1,8 G
AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200 mm f/4-5,6 G IF-ED
AF-S DX VR 16-85 mm f/3,5-5,6G ED

Any advice is welcome – by posting this in the “Nikon SLR Lens Talk Forum” I’m not expecting great “enthusiasm” for the 50D, even if I prefer the 50D body, the reasonably good lens are more expensive, and thus I’m leaning for the D90.

One last thing…, while trying, on the cameras on the store (holding on my hand with no batteries) and looking thru he viewfinder the 50D was pretty clear but the D90 was very dark and grainy, is it because didn’t have power/battery?!

Thanks for your time

PS: sorry for my pour English
