not a compromise???

it's 27mm at the "wide" end in film equivalent and $1100.

MORE AND MORE PEOPLE WANT FF (they just can't afford it)

see nikon, sony, etc.

canon is just taking great advantage of the $$$ they know they'll part with for said FF. (tiny sensor crop bodies you champion are BETTER PROFIT for canon)

get a clue please carl & give your "crop body" defense system the long-overdue rest it deserves

Hardly a compromise at all. 7D and 17-55 plus a macro and a telephoto lens can meet or beat (mostly beat) any full frame combo in 90%+ of the situations at lower cost.

Your thinking is so 2008. Not that many people would want a full frame now and even less in the future.

(bt if you never want to move past tiny-sensor dSLRs and still want/need f/2.8 then get the 17-55. it's the best compromise for 1.6x crop bodies.)
