AFD 35-70 f2.8 on D700. Good?
I'd like to buy a midrange zoom for my D700, as I currently own mainly fix focals (24, 50 and 85 AF plus some AIs).
If I were wise and patient I'd save money and buy the 24-70 AFS later, but I'm not wise nor patient, the 24-70 isn't cheap and it's very big and heavy so I'm considering a 35-70 f2.8 AFD.
I know a 35-70 zoom isn't particularly versatile, while a 28-70 would be OK and a 24-xx would be perfect, but Nikon offer in that range leaves a bit to be desired: the 24-120 AFS is weak on the wide side, I don't trust the 24-85 2.8-4 (or the newer AFS version) and the 28-70 f2.8 is rare, expensive and bigger than the 24-70 f2.8...
So ,is the 35-70 f2.8 a good choice on a D700? Any suggstions?
Mr. President, I'm not saying we wouldn't get our hair mussed. But I do say... no more than ten to twenty million killed, tops. Uh... depended on the breaks.
