Re: Got it back today

Pretty amazing. I had a D700 completely submerged in a canoe mishap. The D700 still works fine - I just opened up all the ports and let it dry... no water had gotten inside amazingly... These Nikon cameras are tough... a lot tougher than we realize - I hear story after story that makes me think they are the best in terms of rugged build and sealing...

I received my D300 back today - seems like it took forever (11 weeks) but I am pleased with the work done and the cost. They replaced the top cover, bayonet mount, grip unit, CF card pins, DC/DC convertor, battery cover, area selector, lens signal pin, and oscillation circuit. Checked, cleaned and adjusted, all for under $300.

Nice to have it back and I can give the D70 back to my wife.
