Re: First shot black issue

Some ppl have recently said that Sony is no longer fixing this problem for free, and others who have sent their camera in the first week of Sept and the camera is on its way back free of charge.. So that tells me that Sony still is fixing this issue, but for some reason some people are getting bad information from whomever they are talking too from Sony, or they are not presenting their problem as the FFB problem... I guess if you say my camera no longer works, or it wont power up without mentioning the FFB issue might get you a " No we wont fix your "no

longer working" camera for free, or it wont power up for free... I think how you present it to Sony is the key. My camera experience the FFB issue about two years ago and I just switched it off and on that lasted about 6 months, then I sent it in and paid the 281 dollars myself.. then a few weeks later Sony sent me a check for the 281 dollars saying it was a manufacturing defect. TYhis was the start of the free fix.. I was one of the first to get my KM 7D and first to review it in B&H Photo review.

The good news is no matter what , with your extended warranty, you will get your great camera, back in action at no cost to you.

Good Luck, post in the "Roll Call" thread, and keep us informed of your situation.
