You may have noticed a D60 in my signature line, well I finally got one, it wasn't planned, I wanted one since it came out and a LOCAL shop got two in and rang me for a try (which I didn't need as i'd used the D30)..
Now onto the E10..
I'll be continuing to use the E10 for my current contract (Museum artifact archiving) , it's doing the job nicely but after that we'll be parting company with good memories of a superb camera.. So why not just Keep it? - Of course I want all the benefits of the D60 (I originally wanted a D30 but couldn't afford one) but it runs deeper than that -- after the fiasco with the Olympus repair centre in Portugal and my E100RS, the guy with the E20 (Marko I think) who had his returned faulty 3 times, another guy who received his UZI from there with a cracked case and others I've heard about in the mean time, let alone the 5 to 8 week wait for all this to happen each time I just can't trust the company to support my camera, I have no interest in the Olydak for the same reason, Oly UK send the cameras to Portugal NOT Germany and that's that
..
I'll continue to Recommend this camera strongly to anyone after something in the price bracket and will staunchly support it's D1X like build quality and ruggedness as a PROFESSIONAL fixed lens DSLR, this is NOT a Consumer Happycam like the S602, G2 , C40 or a prosumer like the 5700, D7i or the superb Sony 707..
I may pop in have a look now and again and if I can stick my oar in to help anyone, while I'm here I will.. I'm NOT going to do a 'Jaco' and try to be a sales rep for Nikon, Canon or anyone else - No one whatever they own can dispute the solid fact that the E10 is the best value digital camera in the known universe, even better value than the budget Fujis and blow out UZIs etc..
I'll still be participating on the Olympus forum of course - the UZI is a Keeper and my "Fun" camera - the only problem being that if it breaks, I'll have to resort to using the D60 and lose half the zoom range but 5X IS is better than nothing -- LOL --
Thanks for a good entertaining forum, thanks to Oly for providing me with a Pro-DSLR at a price I could afford at the time, and thanks to the E10 for many superb months use - and for buying me a D60 ;-)
Regards
