Some mixed lighting, but im likeing this camera mostly shot HR mode Velvia, ISO 200 CS AF, DR100 apart from the wife shot on portrait Inhancer and the teasel which was shot on Pro-Focus Mode which works well, and even managed some Bif having fun anyway.

Its not an DSlr as we know, and may have some short comings what camera dont.

But you know i like it, and it complements what i already have. thanks for looking regards Alan.

Digital Zoom Macro.

Bif attempt.

DR priority.

Portrait soft mode.

DZ Macro.

Macro

Pro-Focus mode.

HR Mode.

Talolah.

All straight from camera, No P&P and mixed lighting which was a challenge i can say.
:P

Very nice images. Don't you have a Olympus DSLR as well? If so, how does it compare -- DR, sharpness, performance, etc?

I just sold my FZ28 and am looking for a replacement. My only real issue with the FZ28 was shooting in lower light (eg walking in the woods) even at base ISO results in noise in shadows. Bumping up the ISO of course worsens it... do love the FZ's size though!

Hi Alan
Which NR-setting are you using actually?
Is it possible to share one sample with all three NR-settings (high, mid, low)
to see the difference?
Regards
Bernie

Alan, these are really nice images from your new camera. Peter

Thanks both are good for the right reasons.

Standard seems to work ok thanks.

Thanks peter appreciate it.

Thanks a lot.

These images strengthen my opiniton, considering buying this camera.

Still, if it is not too much to ask,
since the images you posted are reduced in size,
I would really like to see some cropped section,
preferably of a - PF prone subject
(as I specified in a previous message - some tree with many
short-distance leaves and branches, against the sky)

I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Thankyou Chris, i agree there it does its job well. :P

Thanks, i have none at the moment but like i said before the PF is a bit blown out of pre portion as was said on the s100fs, i never really had a problem with PF i suspect i dont that meant trees.

Anyway most that had it dealt with it via P&P, so i would not worry to much i have had worse cameras that have it regards Alan.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I know that PostProcessing can reduce the problem dramatically,
but (and this is a big but),
I really do not like to PP, unless it is to add effects and such,
much less to be HAVE TO pp images, just for the sake of making them
reasonably usable.

Thanks again,
in adavnce.

To be honest, i dont do much P&P either i print them out at A4 no problems looks good, and folk that see them say the same.

Should say it stacks up well, DR is excellent.

Nice (small) pictures. They seem to indicate the exposure and dynamic range are really good.

Unfortunately the pictures say nothing about noise and sharpness because for that we need full size images. Hopefully someone will post full size images soon.

Thanks, the way i look at them is this and you are right Noise sharpness is very important. Rest assured i am critical of the said subjects, myself print A4 images and they look great little noise, although (subjective) and great detail.

We all view and look for certain things, i shoot JPgs straight from the camera with little or no P&P thats the way i like it, P&P can be subjective to but rest assured they look ok. Im not into getting to tecky about things i will leave that to the forum interlecturals, thanks for your comments regards Alan.

You bet im having fun,
