7D - Samples look bad - why?

First of all I am a Canon user, dying to buy the 7D. Well, actually a full frame 7D but money is tight.

Since I want the best for my money and I feel that the quality of a finished picture is important I reviewed with great interest the dpreview sample shots togethers with the Canon sample shots probably taking in the best possible environment to sell the camera.

Well, to say the least I am shocked and pray for better samples.

Looking at the shots iso800 and above I notice a very unfavorable pattern in the areas that were not in focus. Can't describe it but they didn't look smooth.

I of course wnt back to be 5DmII sample shots and they seemed way smoother and better.

What am I doing wrong? I'd really like to buy a 7D but I don't have the money to waste it on a dud.

On top of that Rob G.'s report about the focus shooting moving subjects scared me.

Can anyone you handled a 7D give some feedback. I am not interested in opinions just clean facs.

Thanks you guys.
