the main differene between v8 and v9 is a line slightly above half a photo (it is moved down a bit and maybe a bit more pronounced at least at this particular shot), but I haven't done any pixel-peeping yet... it's best visible when you download both versions and move back and forth between them in say XnView

Good catch! That is exactly what the minor big fix on version 0.9.0.0 does is correct an offset in processing the top part of the image that will have the effect of moving some of the HPN slightly down. It shouldn't have much of an effect on the depth of the HPN, but I'll recheck all offsets and algorithms as I move toward the final release of 1.0.0.0 with full file format support.
