Push the button and camera won't focus or take a pic....nothing.

I did the 2 green button reset just now and so far so good, but has anyone else experienced this?

It looks more like you've got the" usual " lock up and ERROR message. There are lots of threads on the forum if you search ERROR message.

I don't see how it is possible for you to reach this conclusion when the OP gives an incredibly vague "Push the button and camera won't focus or take a pic....nothing".

How do you know it is a problem with the camera rather than the user, since the OP gave us absolutely no details?

OP - we need more information. Is the lens cap off ;-)? What AF mode are you in? AF-S won't allow you to shoot if you don't acheive focus lock. You also won't be able to achieve focus if you are focusiing on a subject with no contrast.

See what I mean? A few more details would help us to help you.

Is there a F flashing, if so the lens mount may need adjusting.. just fiddle with the lens and make sure the F stops flashing.. this is a common prob with the d90 apparently

I had this very frustrating problem too and after a lot of time and reading posts, I found its from a slight misalignment of the lens & body. It doesn't take much. Keep the contacts clean & lens locked on solidly. Even clicking on the lenscap after the lens is on camera can cause this.
The contacts must be too small and can easily slide a little off track.
When theres no communication between lens & body.....it freezes up.
