NO optical VF on any of their mid range compacts.

I realize that some people find OVF's on digital P&S cams still useful, but for me, they're pointless. Too small, and uncomfortable to use. I have never used the OVF on any digital P&S that I've ever owned. If Canon, or any other manufacturer could put a real OVF onto a digital P&S, that would be one thing. But, the teeny tiny coke bottle bottomed OVF's on today's digi P&S cams are primarily for show, a throw back to when they wer actually useful, almost "retro" in the look they give the newer cameras. Just my opinion though.
