Lightzone seems to run faster in Snow Leopard....
and sort of makes sense if the previous Java virtual machine was 32 bits.. but i am not sure if it was 32 or 64.
A lot of LightZone is written in Java so if the Java virtual machine is further optimized (afaik, it's closer to the very latest version of it now by just a minor rev) then it probably runs much faster. I saw that it has Sun's hotspot optimization engine- again, if that wasn't in Leopard (I am not sure if it was) then it would explain why LightZone now feels zippier.

Andreas Feininger (1906-1999) 'Photographers — idiots, of which there are
so many — say, “Oh, if only I had a Nikon or a Leica, I could make great
photographs.” That’s the dumbest thing I ever heard in my life. It’s
nothing but a matter of seeing, and thinking, and interest. That’s what
makes a good photograph.'
