great job canon! nice artifact free images >
finally canon did sth right with the new G11 and S90.
being used to my canon 5DmarkII i couldnt see that overprocessed 14mp images of canon G10 & co.
after seeing the first sample shots it seems that canon is back in the boat and finally produces images with it's compacts that dont have this digital look but are pretty artifact free. both new cams have a very natural looking noise. not even fuji or panasonic are that artifact free. great job canon.
well, not SLR quality images and not even micro4/3 quality ... but hey ... it's close to micro4/3. and it seems canon has found the perfect sharpening for this sensor. not too soft not over sharpened no digital looking just fine.
AND it seems the lenses of both new cameras are sharp from edge to edge. while maybe not a problem with the G series all IXUS sized canons (S90 has about the size of the bigger IXUS series) had soft edges that you could even see on a 13x18cm print.
go on canon. this is the right way!
