Re: EN-EL4A / EN-EL4 Battery Difference

With my D70 I bought generic batteries but I don't recommend it for the D2 or D3. The genuine Nikon batteries are just so good I would never buy another no-name battery.

I tried several cheap batteries on Fleabay and one was DOA and the other only worked some of the time.

If you do go generic, stay with the very well know stores.

EN-EL4a battery life is amazing ! I would often get 10,000 shots on my D2hs and a bit less with the D2X, and with my D3 I can get 15,000 shots, and unbelievably, in my D300 I think I would manage 20,000 ! Seriously.

On Thursday I took 12,000 shots with the EN-EL4a battery in the battery grip (the camera didn't touch the D300 regular battery), and I still had 44 % battery life left. Yesterday I took over 12,000 shots again and still had 41 % battery life left !
