I had my KM7D just 8 months ago repaired under warranty. Yes, they wanted to charge me too but I insisted with the links on their website that this must be done free or charge.
They did. Even though the camera had to be shipped from Dubai to Singapore and back, they fixed it for free. Lost my KonicaMinolta Shoulder Strip, which I complaint and I got the next day (I don't know where they had them here in Dubai) a new one, original KM.
Please do insist, this IS NOT okay. Nowhere on the website is mentioned that they will not honor their commitment anymore. Let them please stand by their word.
Complain and speak always to the next manager in line whenever you get a negative response. Write a letter to the president of Sony, whatever. Fight, don't let this be it and pay.
If Sony wants to play with the Pros then customers of Pro Products (like the KM7D was once upon the time) deserve Pro - Service.
