D300 and wireless remote

A little OT but here we go. I just bought a wireless remote shutter off ebay, the brand is aputure. It claims to work up to 40 metres in open areas. I set my camera up inside my home (which is wrapped in metalic foil as an insulator, of course this is behind the walls) and walked away in a straight line outside and every now and then clicked the remote. I counted how many times I did this and went back inside to see how many exposures the camera had taken. 1 less than my total. I went onto google earth and loaded the map of my place and surrounding area and used the measuring tool. Yes 82 metres! My next challenge will be to take the camera on tripod to a sports oval and test it there. I am hopefull of around 120 metres. Those of you who know what I shoot will be able to put 2 and 2 together and realise my excitement.
Warm regards, Dave.
