New Sigma DP1, crossing fingers didn't help...

My Sigma DP1 finally reached me after a long wait.

All that time I prayed (okay, not every day) that I would get a clean sample, but didn't work.

My first few seconds with the camera, the lens would open up and retract intermittently, the battery indicator showed full charge. Thought, I'd charge the battery and try again. About an hour later, with the battery partly recharged, I could take a shot and this is how it came out, with red horizontal lines right across the top of the image.

Next morning, tried with a fully-charged battery and no red lines appeared... not until I tried ISO 200 and above. After some battery use, it seems setting a high ISO leads to red lines, the higher the ISO, the worse the lines. Some times, the lines appear even at ISO 100, if the camera has been on for more than 30 mins.

Any ideas? Anyone else have this problem, will it go away?
Do I need to contact Sigma right away or wait and watch?
