Here's a link to some of the recent photos that I've applied different effects to. I think the crooked tree is the most like a watercolor painting, but not necessarily my favorite. Take a look if you like, and I'm always wanting constructive criticism. I've learned a lot on this forum and have a lot more to learn. Joan

Beautiful pictures Joan. The special effects really add a different dimension. How did you get the watercolor effect? How did you get your name on the bottom right of each frame?

Gary, I sharpened edges/used dry brush/texturizer-canvas/and brightness and contrast. Don't ask me how much of each one, but that seemed to be the steps on at least one of them. I think Isobel is right in saying a mild dry brush adjustment and texture (she used sandstone and I used canvas) is the first step to try and then go from there. As for the name, I used the text tool in PS Limited Edition/Script MT Bold 70 points (but this varies with the size of the picture) and moving tool to get it placed. Hope that's clear and really it's simple procedure--I may have made it sound hard. Joan

Thanks everyone. Here's the latest watercolor effect that I like. That may be because I like this old bridge which is on the corner of our property. It's going to be demolished and replaced soon...so glad to get this.

Still got lots to learn and have to work between PS LE and PSP to get what I want, but once in awhile it turns our OK. Joan
