When you got the new camera with the latest version (1.0) did you
notice any diference in AF? was there any improvement at all?
Do you think the production version's af speed will be better, or is
olympus settling for this speed?

AF performance is my biggest concern, because it appears to me that
olympus have produced a very beautiful, small, well built and
extremely desirable camera that is, unfortunately, blind.

Think about it..there's no evf and the lcd has low resolution and is
barely visible in low light (according to the DPR preview,) and then
we're told the af is not as fast as the competition, so we can't rely
on the camera to take a good picture when visibility is low.

The AF on the later firmware version we used was better, but this is still an early lens and the lens appears to have quite an impact. One thing i can tell you is that AF speed on this camera is much better with Panasonic's micro four thirds zooms than the Olympus 14-42 we've got (i've just been out shooting with the 14-140mm).
